2022 Carmenere

A blend of 80% Carménère, 10% Malbec, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine was aged for 24 months in 100% French oak barrels and carefully tended throughout its maturation. As one of our final picks of the season, the extended hang time allowed for optimal ripeness and beautifully developed tannins. The nose opens with layered aromas of violet, dried herbs, green peppercorn, ripe fig and dark plum, accented by subtle notes of baking spice, cedar and toasted vanilla from barrel aging. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied with velvety tannins, a structured core and juicy dark fruit tones. It pairs beautifully with rosemary-crusted rack of lamb, braised short ribs, beef tenderloin, and wood-fired steak. In addition to aged Manchego and smoked Gouda.
